This course helps train the student to dry the entire structure from top to bottom using various pieces of the most advanced equipment and methods of drying. Challenges will be discussed and addressed including how the outdoor environment impacts the indoor built environment.
This 3-day (ASD) Applied Structural Drying Technician course will also address customer interaction and how to manage questions that may arise. Odour is also a major factor in your job success – why? The customers perception of “clean” is impacted by how things smell. This is a proven concept! Odours in water losses often are mistaken for mold issues. This course pairs nicely with the Odour Control Technician (IICRC OCT) course and the Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (IICRC AMRT) course.

This IICRC Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD) course is a must for emergency technicians, project managers, estimators, and insurance professionals to support their roles in serving the customer that may be suffering from a water loss.
This certified structural drying course confirms and demonstrates knowledge to perform restoration work and an understanding of water damage, its effects, and techniques for drying structures. Knowing how to apply the science will ensure sites are dry and mold free!

Upon achieving this ASD Structural Drying Certification, you demonstrate you have the training and background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows, and prevent contamination potential such as mold.
All materials taught in the IICRC Applied Structural Drying course are in line with the IICRC S500 Water Damage Restoration Standard.

*Water Damage Restoration Technician is a mandatory prerequisite course needed in order to attend the AMRT and/or ASD.
Those taking the AMRT and/or ASD course exams must have already attended and passed the IICRC Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician course.
Those attendees who have neglected to obtain this prerequisite will NOT be eligible to write the exam nor will they be able to gain credit for the course.
